mily Trevathan, E-RYT 500
Emily Trevathan discovered yoga in 2000 and knew almost immediately that she wanted to share the practice—and its many benefits—with others. What began as a personal journey has grown into more than two decades of study, teaching, and exploration of the many ways yoga can support the whole person.
After moving to Denver in 2007, Emily immersed herself in the city’s vibrant yoga community. In 2008, she completed her initial teacher training at Samadhi Center for Yoga and became a certified yoga instructor. Since then, she has continued to expand her education through specialized trainings in Pre- and Postnatal Yoga, Yoga for Children and Teens, YogaED, Chakra Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Chair Yoga.
Emily’s teaching and personal practice have continued to evolve beyond asana. In 2020, she entered the world of sound meditation and earned a Certificate in Sonic Massage–Level 1 through the Center of Sound. She offers private sound sessions and monthly Full Moon Sound Healing Meditations, incorporating sound, vibration, breath, and meditation to create opportunities for deep rest and connection.
In 2024, Emily completed her 500-hour Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training through the Kripalu School of Ayurveda, deepening her understanding of the relationship between yoga, Ayurveda, daily wellness, and individualized care. In 2025, she completed Reiki Levels 1 and 2 and began her studies in Pelvic Floor Yoga. She is currently continuing her education toward certification as a Pelvic Floor Yoga Teacher.
As the owner and lead instructor of Twisted Juniper Yoga in Hannibal, Missouri, Emily teaches Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Chair, Pre- and Postnatal Yoga, and yoga for children and teens. She also offers private sessions designed to meet individual wellness goals and needs.
Emily believes yoga is not a one-size-fits-all practice. She is passionate about creating an environment where every person feels welcome, supported, and empowered to explore what their body and mind need. Her teaching is grounded in kindness, curiosity, gratitude, and the belief that yoga can meet us wherever we are—and help us feel a little more connected when we leave.
