Instructors

Emily Trevathan found yoga in 2000. She knew immediately that she wanted to share the joy and benefits of the practice with others.
Upon moving to Denver in 2007 she began exploring the vast yoga community and was impressed with the breadth of teachers and programs. After eight months of studio research, Emily found the teacher training program that perfectly fit her needs and personality at Samadhi Center for Yoga and became a certified yoga instructor in December 2008. Continuing her yogic education and to enhance her first pregnancy, Emily completed pre and postnatal teacher training in Spring 2009.
Freed from corporate responsibilities, Emily embarked on her journey as a full time yoga teacher. She teaches vinyasa, restorative, pre/postnatal yoga, as well as yoga for children and teens. Emily is passionate about spreading the joy of yoga to all ages with kindness and gratitude.

After practicing yoga for eight years Kelly Moss sought to expand her knowledge of yoga by earning a teacher certification in 2013 with The Yoga Institute in Texas. To put her certification to work, Kelly started an after-school yoga club at a Houston high school where she also taught part-time art classes.
Upon moving to Hannibal in June 2015, Kelly is happy to join and teach with Emily Trevathan at Twisted Juniper Yoga Studio. She is enthusiastic to share her knowledge of yoga philosophy and practice in hopes of imparting students with the tools to help cultivate an awareness of their bodies and deepen their experience of the present moment.

My appreciation for fitness came in 2005 when I began my weight loss journey and lost a total of 120 lbs. I began immersing myself in all types of fitness finding a strong connection with high intensity exercise. In 2011 I became a group fitness instructor with the intention of helping others work through unhealthy barriers to physical health; just as I had done myself. I embarked on everything from running to kickboxing and Crossfit; but I ultimately found myself in total body strength training. I found yoga in the spring of 2016 looking to re-align my mental and physical connection to wellness after a set back in my weight maintenance journey. Twisted Juniper has allowed me to explore uncharted territories of my physicality. I have learned that even if I never lose another pound I will respect and honor my body by devoting time routinely to give it the attention it deserves. I am so excited to join the family at Twisted Juniper and share this philosophy as a BARRE certified instructor.

"With yoga, I defy gravity--who has grown crooked perseveres straight. My mat is where I go to surrender, to forgive, to love and to practice walking upright."
